Just as new babies require a great deal of care, so do new parents.

It’s challenging to navigate the role of the new parent while they are learning how to deal with how to take care of a newborn, tend to their physical healing, and endure the emotional surges due to the hurricane of hormones.

In order to allow new parents to be able to fully enjoy their new addition they need their own “mother”.

What will a Postpartum Doula do for you?

Each family is unique, which means that each family’s needs will be different. While we will discuss what exactly you may require from my visits to your home my services include, but are not limited to:

-newborn care support (diapering, burping, bathing, etc.)

-breastfeeding support

-assist with household organization for ease of transition into life with a newborn

-light housekeeping

-emotional support and mental health check ins for parents

-help with older siblings transitioning to having a baby sibling

-care for baby while parent(s) nap, involve themselves in self care, or step out of the home

-provide resources for local community services

-meal prep, planning, and/or grocery shopping

-light pet care

Who needs a Postpartum Doula?

New parents. Experienced parents. Parents recovering from a Cesarean. Parents recovering from a vaginal birth. Parents who have one baby. Parents who have multiples. Parents who adopted.

Essentially, all parents need a Postpartum Doula. Family stress rates can be significantly decreased by the involvement of a Postpartum Doula…and everyone needs that!

Those who are struggling with Postpartum Depression/Anxiety, having breastfeeding challenges, are trying to maintain a business, have partners who travel a lot,  are lacking in family support, or have had traumatic births will experience massive positive impact from having a Postpartum Doula in the home.

Rates

While I am not yet fully certified my services will not be covered by extended health, but you can write off invoices as a tax write off, as Postpartum Doula Services are categorized as health and medical expenses.

My rate is $25/hr for a minimum of 5 hours. Shift times are agreed upon by you and I based on what works best. Visits are scheduled in bundles, however, if you feel you may require something other than what is offered below please contact me so we can figure something else out for your family. 7
